


Create Colours From Plants: Tie-Dyeing With Botanical Colours

Susannah Hall is a renowned London-based teacher of natural dyes and other traditional crafts offering summer courses in Hastings.
Join me by the sea to experiment with dyeing silk scarves with madder (traditional red), weld (traditional yellow), turmeric (gold) and onion skins (soft brown). You’ll be able to use different tie-dye techniques and have fun combining dip-dyeing and over-dyeing to create a variety of effects. You’ll learn about mordanting and preparing the dye bath.
